Well, it's quite easy. You show the steps of the procedure of bowing for gold, if the word 'target' isn't in any of those, then you have the basis for the ruling right there. This question is based on the interaction between Saya (Shizuka) and Yashinko exp.

I don't see any rule that we can point to; to produce gold you just bow, there's no targeting involved.
Shizuka will not dishonor a Yashinko xp/Soken/Hinobu if they bow to produce gold (but will dishonor a Yashinko basic).
