I we ran into this and weren't sure how to resolve this last night. My Search-Fu didn't turn up anything so I apologize if this is a rehash.
Does Ward of Air require the Personality with Ward of Air to actually be at the current battlefield? This is in relation to if the personality with Ward of Air actually has the Air trait. I ask because the trait doesn't specify at the current battlefield with the IE wording and it is a trait so I'm assuming no interrupt restrictions either. Therefore the scenario is:
1) I have a personality at the battlefield and an Air Shugenja at home with Ward of Air. 2) My opponent does an action and kills my personality at the battlefield
Can I use Ward of Air on the Air Shugenja at home to negate the destruction?
Trait: Before this Shugenja, or any personality if the Shugenja is air, is destroyed by a battle action, you may destroy this spell to negate it.
Cheers!
