Do Not Delay!

L5R CCG Rules board, 28 December 2013 to 29 December 2013

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Do Not Delay! does not have any restrictions on targeting a personality to challenge. Is it then legal to challenge another personality which I control, and then refuse the duel to permanently give my duelist the battle action?

Per the Ivory Edition Basic Rulebook, under dueling rules (p. 69), 'When a card says that one Personality "challenges" another, this starts a duel between the two, who must be controlled by different players.'

No, you may not challenge your own Personality.
