Can I react with Luxurious Silk to pay for my opponent's Virtuous Charity?
Luxurious Silk
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
You're not "paying for" the action. You're paying Gold, but it's not a Gold Cost. Luxurious Silk doesn't help here.
The ruling above is reversed. You can react with Luxurious Silks to produce Gold for the effects of Virtuous Charity.
There are some rulings that seem to be conflicting about this card.

Could you explain why it works in one case but it doesn't on the other?
Under Discussion!
We have determined to allow Luxurious Silks to produce gold for the effects on actions. The ruling on Virtuous Charity is reversed, and the CR will be updated to allow "pay" to be used in action's effects.
