Multiple targets vs Negation

L5R CCG Rules board, 31 July 2013

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

When Ingenuity is played during the Action Phase to target two personalities, and the second player reacts with Astonishing Accusation, are the effects negated on both targets? That seems to be the way it reads.

The text on Astonishing Accusation is: "Reaction: After another player’s Political action targets your Personality: Negate its effects."

vs.

"Reaction: After another player’s Political action targets your Personality: Negate its effects on him."

That is correct. Astonishing will negate all effects of the action after it targets your Personality; an action worded as your second would not necessarily do so.
