Karachu, Harmony and simultaneous costs

L5R CCG Rules board, 20 June 2013

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I have in play Mukudori and a Asako Karachu and I try to use Mukudori's Limited ability.

Scenario 1: I'm playing out of The False Path, so my Karachu has the Fudo keyword. Can I bow him three seperate times to pay the cost of Mukudori's action, or must I bow three seperate cards?

Scenario 2: I've also got in play 3 False Rings (that also have the Fudo keyword) and Karachu has been targeted with Harmony. Can I bow him 3 times, one for each ring, to replace the cost of bowing the ring?

In other words, my questions boil down to "must I choose different cards to pay a cost" and "are costs payed simultaneously".

Relevant cards: Mukudori, Asako Karachu, Harmony

No. See Costs and restrictions, Timing of costs: Multiple costs indicated by a number, or the word "all," in the same piece of text are applied simultaneously. Example: When instructed to "Bow 2 Samurai," or "Bow all Samurai you control," the samurai are chosen and bowed simultaneously.

One Karachu cannot bow three times simultaneously.
