Mara's Touch and Creating Order

L5R CCG Rules board, 9 April 2013 to 13 April 2013

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If my opponent attaches a Mara's Touch to one of his personalities, can I use a really techy use of Creating Order targeting that personality to negate force bonuses and penalties to prevent my opponent from using either action on Mara's Touch? I'm thinking yes, as since the force penalty is negated the -2F part of the cost will be unable to be paid, correct?

You sir are evil

Yes, Creating Order's negating force penalties will effectively stop the Personality from paying the costs of Mara's Touch's abilities, so those actions will end without resolution if announced later that turn. can't be announced until the turn ends.

Just as a slight follow-up, a personality hit with Creating Order couldn't even announce either action on Mara's Touch because of the Good Faith Rule, right?

A player, 13 April 2013

Good catch. Yes, Good Faith Rule would forbid the player from announcing the abilities on Mara's Touch.
