Embracing Battle & The Passing of Tradition

L5R CCG Rules board, 19 March 2013 to 20 March 2013

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Hello!

I was wondering if the following combo works:

1) I use "Embracing Battle" on a Paragon to give him or her Elite. 2) Another personality of mine uses "The Passing of Tradition" and targets my now new Elite Paragon to copy "Elite" permanently.

I'm under the impression that this is valid because "Elite" is a keyword, but I wasn't sure if "The Passing of Tradition" applied only to printed keywords

Embracing Battle - Limited: Choose your performing Paragon: He may assign even if bowed. Give him Elite (Elite cards contribute Force even if bowed) The Passing of Tradition - Battle/Open: Choose your performing Personality and target your Personality: The performer permanently copies a keyword from target other than Courtier, Samurai, or Shugenja.

This works, for the same reason as here and because Passing of Tradition doesn't specify "base keyword".
