IF it so happened that both me and my opponent had a hotei's contentment in play and he proclaimed a 3ph personality, And i used rhetoric, i would then gain 5 honor?
Yes, in that particular case you can trigger your own Hotei's Contentment in addition to the opponent's. Just note that you'd need a chi 4 courtier for your Rhetoric. Changing the player who's gaining (or losing) the Honor is creating a new timing window (that will follow the usual A-D priorities). Precedent with Forgotten Temple.
