Delayed Arrival, Daigotsu Miki, Resurrection

L5R CCG Rules board, 5 February 2013

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

On my turn, Delayed Arrival flips and I target Daigotsu Miki, my turn ends. On the other player's turn, he decides not to discard a Dark Virtue and allows Daigotsu Miki to be destroyed. He then plays Resurrection to bring Daigotsu Miki into play again. Can Daigotsu Miki now be assigned to attack me?

Delayed Arrival Choose a Personality in play. He may not be assigned to attack you until your next turn begins.

Daigotsu Miki After Miki enters play: Lose 1 Honor. After your Events Phase: You may remove a Dark Virtue in your hand or discard pile from the game. If you did not remove one, destroy Miki.

Resurrection Open: Discard a card and choose your performing dead Personality: Bring him into play, paying all costs.

Daigotsu Miki was dead - that means he was out of play but face-up. That's not enough for "losing card memory" (it requires being also face-down) of being under Delayed Arrival's effects. Miki still may not assign.
