Reckless Duel

L5R CCG Rules board, 24 January 2013

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 24 January 2013

Kakita Bob challenges Mirumoto Dave to a Reckless Duel. Kakita Bob loses the duel, and bows.

Question: Is the loser also sent home, or does the person who played the card get to send home the enemy personality who was targeted with the action?

Card text:

Battle: Choose your performing unbowed Personality and target an enemy Personality: Your Personality duels the target. Bow the duel's loser. Move him home.

The "him" in the movement effect refers to the previous Personality mentioned, in this case the duel's loser. (See the CR entry on Pronouns: http://rules.l5r.com/EE_Special_wording_rules#Pronouns)
