A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

this thread viewtopic.php?f=59&t=94019&p=1251360&hilit=stone+of+remembrance#p1251360 is very confusing and it does not contain any position from AEG, could you please rule it for once ?
1- if i tear it apart and i have another copy, can i use it again ? 2- if the answare above is NO, if my deck have 43 cards, and in the middle of the tornament i realize that i have 3 cards that sucks a lot, so, i wittingly tear thoes three cards to remove it from my deck for further rounds, what it would heappen ??? sounds very odd, not to mention a breach in the rules of the game. 3- if the answare to Question1 is YES, if i dont have another copy and someone ask to check list my deck, would i lose that round ? be cause iven if my deck is 40 cards does not match the deck list, and i understand that the deck list was made for this... 4- the floor rules says: Physical destruction of cards An effect may call for the physical destruction of a card (for example, "tear this card in half"). A card that has been physically destroyed is removed from the game, is no longer part of its owner's decks, and may not be included in decks in any future game. [ADDED 19 Oct 2011]
i do understand that the physical destruction prevent the physical card it self to be used and removed from the deck, and not from the deck list it self. the part that says "is no longer part of its owner's decks" refere in that game, this prevent from retriving it or something else.
thanks

1. No. "Is no longer part of your deck" means it is no longer considered to be in the deck for what the floor rules consider presenting the same deck each round. You get one chance per tournament to use the Stone of Remembrance.
2. This would be cheating. The only reason you're allowed to tear the Stone is due to the cardinal rule that cards override the rules.
3. Irrelevant
4. Again, in this case "deck" refers to the decklist for all rounds. Once Stone of Remembrance is ripped, for deck purposes it's like it was never in the deck.
