TFC Trait and Multiple Usages

L5R CCG Rules board, 17 October 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Okay, so I tried looking this up and did not find anything on this (it is probably well known, but I haven't played much since TSE was announced so, bear with me) :

Twin Forks City reads: After an action resolves that created a duel your Personality won during a Combat Segment, once per Personality per battle: Negate his next bowing, movement, or destruction from other player's cards' effects.

So I would assume that this means that: A. If I have X people at a battle (for purposes let's say 3), and they each win a duel *in that same battle* they would all get a negation put on them. B. If there are two battles at separate provinces (let's say I'm defending) : a personaility that wins a duel at one battle, moves into the other battle and wins one there as well, would thus have *two* negations on them, correct? (And back to the Kensho-in XP rulings? )

Thanks!

1. Yes. Each of your Personalities can "get a negation" by each winning a duel.

2. Yes. If a Personality can win duels in two separate Combat segments, he "gets two negations". And - as with Kakita Kensho-in exp - since each negation effect scrubs its trigger, each negation will negate a different effect.
