Kosaten Shiro says that a holding's gold cost cannot be changed in any other way...
Fantastic garden's costs less for Crane.
Does Kosaten Shiro's restriction prevent crane from getting the reduced Gold Costs?
Some of the other venerable masters might be better sources but no
It's not reducing the cost. It's cost is 5 for crane players. Not a reduction
So 4 hold with the shiro stronghold ๐
Hmmm...
Same question with Gold edition Fantastic Gardens but has slightly different wording.
I still believe it works. Not sure on the technical wording but the gold cost is already listed as variable on the card itself would be my best logic
It would cost 5G for Kosaten Shiro players.
Since the SH effect kicks in, applies the discount from 7 to 5, then negates the card's own further discount.
I'll defer to the master ๐ฏ
That's not me, but going on how things were played back then.
I agree with the second part, that Kosaten Shiro wouldn't allow you to get a further discount from the Holding's own trait, but it only reduces by 1, not 2, so FG would cost 6.
Oh, yeah, my bad. I was trying to say the SH effect overrode the individual card effect. Should've stuck with it like that.
Poorly Placed Gardens work, in general, way better than Fantastic Gardens.
I remember being at the release for that set and being so stoked for the shiro for my Crane deck lol! Oh those were the days. ๐
Lots of people complained about fantastic gardens not working well for Crane players during the time that card was out
(6G was the answer at the time of the MRP version)
At least when it came out initially you could roll large farm and silk works so it was by itself worth it (prior to the nix)
And 1 koku the rest of the holdings essentially
Hey!

Is Moneylender considered a "gold-producing holding" for the purposes of Crystal Mine?
In the context of Diamond, yes.
Since you could remove 0 tokens to produce 0 Gold, it would be a Gold-producing holding at all times.
The EE printing should still count, I suppose. Since it produces Gold normally, and you're not bowing it explicitly to produce Gold, given the new minimum token removal clause.
Also, pro tipยฎ๏ธ, it's really neat to add the set name in brackets after the card name in the SnM decklists, so that you play with the specific set/era printings consistently.
i think it works as you wrote ๐
also pro tip part 2 - you don't need to edit decklist manually, if you want to display specific printing of card you just need to know where it was printed. eg if you choose Bend Like a Reed and "TotV" (time of the void) from expansions acronym list ("set name" filter in deckbuilder), SnM will show you specific printing AND its name with expansions acronym in brackets. you just need to click it and Snm will add it to your decklist ans save it with its acronym as well.
Also also, note that there are a few cards missing from the DB, and sometimes the image packs.
Especially older sets.
I think from around Gold onward it's pretty good and consistent/complete. Clan Wars/Jade has a bunch.
i know. there're some holes in database, eg there are missing clan war saga reprints.
this database origin is from egg of pan'ku program. and there were always two versions - current edition and legacy. probably someone updating legacy accidentally used "replace" option to remove some cards.
Few years ago i was updating this database (since samurai till end) and was sending all corrected versions to Drew. But i stopped at some point.
anyway i think it should be in (link) channel ๐
