Gonna have four players this weekend in MA for some Old Back Only Format and Daisho Format action !!

A player, 7 October 2026 23:51

nice

A player, 7 October 2026 23:51 · in reply

what is daisho?

A player, 8 October 2026 00:13 · in reply

An expanded old school format which is:

Imperial - Heaven’s Will (the set right before the cards went to the Third Era design/fronts)

A player, 9 October 2026 21:04

I feel like that middle design was the best though the last design was prettier if that makes sense?

A player, 9 October 2026 21:46

I'm a fan of the original style and the newest style.

The originals are bold, aesthetic, and ornate, and dripping with flavor.

The new style is sleek, simple, also ornate, but in a way that cedes itself to more important things, like game text and larger images and such.

The middle style has all the thickness and boldness of the original style, but without any of that ornate feel. It just feels blocky.

The face redesign in CE was one of the things that drew me back into the game. Or at least, brought it to my attention.

Jeff Williamson (rules official), 9 October 2026 22:08

Yeah they had good stylistic choices in the middle era (Oracles with the element frames) and bad (Black Scrolls without any recoloration in the frame), plus I agree they’re the blockiest/most workmanlike of the three eras

Jeff Williamson (rules official), 9 October 2026 22:08

The detail that went into the late-era stuff is amazing when you look closely

Jeff Williamson (rules official), 9 October 2026 22:13

Of course we had to resurrect the frame concept for the Onyx Lives! environment 😄

Ooohhh.

A player, 9 October 2026 22:22

Now I'm wondering if I'm still alive LOL

A player, 14 October 2026 16:34

So, this might not be the place for it, but I thought I’d toss it out there - I use the oracle really heavily, and I can’t imagine I’m the first one to bring it up, but I really wanted to since I saw the recent update - are there any plans to allow you to organize the order of your deck lists (or have I just not figured out how)? Because it can be pretty tiresome having to hunt down a deck variation randomly tossed in the middle of it all. Idk how difficult that’d be and I understand it’s more of a labor of love atm, but if there were one thing I wish I could, or knew how to, do, it’d be that

A player, 14 October 2026 20:52 · in reply

Basic folders and sorting were added yesterday

A player, 14 October 2026 22:02

Ohhh, thank you. I hadn’t tried it yet, but over the weekend I had been scanning up and down as I was tweaking a bunch of decks and it dawned on me that was one thing that would really improve my experience. Good to know!

A player, 14 October 2026 22:10

be warned.. the implementation is clunky as crap right now.. i plan on doing better when i get around to it. My intern (Claude) got told that he made that feature "Geriatric and Butt Ugly"

Jeff Williamson (rules official), 15 October 2026 05:28 · in reply

I've had that same experience; I have ancient playtest deck rebuilds, old tournament-placing decks, and newer Onyx Lives! lists all floating in there and the list was... unwieldy at best. ❤️ the new QOL.

A player, 15 October 2026 21:15

I really LOVE the folders! Just put all my lists into them, it's neatly organised, I'm just loving it. Thank you, it was a hassle to ctrl F everytime I was searching for a specific deck.

A player, 15 October 2026 22:01

good feedback all! keep letting me know what's working and what's not to direct my efforts.

A player, 15 October 2026 22:02

I'm planning on making the folders more drag-n-drop instead of the awkward pull downs, but glad it's useful even as is.

A player, 16 October 2026 00:59

folders have drag-n-drop now

A player, 16 October 2026 01:00

if it's not working anywhere, LMK.. and i can drop the folder pulldown

A player, 16 October 2026 01:01

it was.. a bit of a pain on android chrome to get it to work, so I want to make sure it works before i drop the other method

A player, 16 October 2026 01:02

still a lot of work to make the directory page look better i think, but it's better than it was

A player, 16 October 2026 01:13 · in reply

Been using it all day. Sure, it’s not perfect, but I would like to assure you it is infinitely better than before. Even its imperfections, I am in love

A player, 16 October 2026 01:16

Unrelated, I just noticed that the gold edition version of Mirumoto Uso experienced is miscredited as April Lee. I assume the real artist is unknown since I’ve never been able to track them down, but I did embarrassingly ask her to sign it my first GenCon and can confirm she did not do it lol not the most important, but worth noting

A player, 16 October 2026 01:58

do me a favor and type /oraclebug and report the Uso issue.

A player, 16 October 2026 01:58

test to see if the report works

A player, 16 October 2026 02:03

Ok, I was just trying to, but I am very confused about how to use this command lol. Like what to put in the fields required after (sorry, I’m not suuuuuper computer literate on modern terms)

A player, 16 October 2026 02:08

oh i just tested it that's interesting

A player, 16 October 2026 02:09 · in reply

it will give you a pull down with the issue category and then the game and then it will bring up a form to fill out

A player, 16 October 2026 02:11

it takes a second for the "is this about the site or a card" choice to pop up, and it wasn't obvious to me the first time because it blended in with the chat. after that the form is obvious

A player, 16 October 2026 02:12

it might be easier just to make it bring up the form and you can type that stuff in

A player, 16 October 2026 02:12

Yeah.. I was just thinking that

A player, 16 October 2026 02:13

and woobie: it's great that your not super literate... makes it a good test 😉

A player, 16 October 2026 02:14

changing the form now... if i don't hit my token limit for the week.

A player, 16 October 2026 02:22

Ok... should be easier now?

A player, 16 October 2026 02:22

I’ll try

A player, 16 October 2026 02:28

Ooo, I hope that helped!

A player, 16 October 2026 02:29

yay, it worked

A player, 16 October 2026 02:30

And, lol, if anyone here actually knows who did do the art for the Gold Edition printing of Mirumoto Uso Experienced, it would just be amazing to simply know after 2+ decades lol (not that it’s great art, it’s completely fine, but I did like April Lee’s Spirit Wars printing better)

A player, 16 October 2026 02:32

ok.. i put a note on the GE edition in the artist field

A player, 16 October 2026 02:38

Also, since I have the person behind it here, kudos on making the website more mobile friendly. I’ve used it extensively since it was first online and over the past 7 years moved to tablets only lately (my desktop died during the pandemic and just never absolutely needed it fixed), I’ve been using it all day today and it’s been so much smoother, so much nicer. Props

A player, 16 October 2026 02:56

danke.

A player, 16 October 2026 02:58

consider poking that patreon button 😉 (no worries to anyone who's strapped... but a nudge doesn't hurt 😉

A player, 16 October 2026 03:00

But I do enjoy recognition as well.

A player, 16 October 2026 10:26 · in reply

Haha, I actually am subscribed. I struggle to understand patreon though, so I haven’t been able to make heads or tails of what’s going on, but i did it to help keep the oracle around anyways when i saw it, so im content

A player, 16 October 2026 14:33

patreon is a little odd. really, it's just.. you pledge to send the creator money on a regular basis, and there are perks and/or posts that go out (you'll get them as email). I don't post super often at the moment. Mostly the perk is the site keeps going.

A player, 16 October 2026 14:39

this is what makes amoro and amoro xp1 jade

A player, 16 October 2026 19:44 · in reply

It really works like that? I swear, I’ve played for 29 years and until I moved 13 years ago, we played it bug or no bug (unless it was Jade Extended). Kinda wish I’d known

Brook Cunningham (rules official), 16 October 2026 19:46 · in reply

Yes, even Strict Jade (aka Hidden Emperor Simulation Rules, see Jade Rulebook) includes the "Grandfather Rule" for other non-bugged versions of Jade Personalities.

A player, 16 October 2026 19:49

To be fair... there were many playgroups who played bug or no bug.

A player, 16 October 2026 19:51

That feels really bizarre to me lol. Like, just mechanically, it feels like a lot of mental processing power to ask of people just to avoid reprints lol. And it gets worse when you consider name changes across exp versions lol

A player, 16 October 2026 19:51

yep

A player, 16 October 2026 19:51

it was a problem for sure
