There’s no rule that says a deck cannot contain multiple Clan Champions, obeying all other restrictions, is there?

Yeah, you may have eg 5 different Clan Champion versions of Hida Kuon in your Legacy deck.

Each action the Imperial Favor can take is its own action, with its own cost. You can take each action once per turn, and all Shibata does is turn the cost from ‘Discard the Imperial Favor’ to ‘Bow your target unbowed Courtier’.

So you could take the Open and Reaction in the same turn, but you can’t take the Open twice in one turn.

Hey @kempy_nezumi , double check my work here when you can. I sometimes get my Legacy and current rules mixed up when it comes to the Favor.

Yeah. Eg if you use rulebook:

RULEBOOK FAVOR LIMITED # Favor Political Limited: Discard the Imperial Favor and a Fate card to draw a card.

And with Shibata Sensei you bow your unbowed Courtier instead discarding IF, you can't use same rulebook ability same turn with original cost. It's just once per turn ability. You still may use other Favor abilities like in cards like in Imperial Summons.

I have done that in a few of my decks but not very many. Sometimes two of the same personality, different EXP, or two different clan champions. I almost get the feeling I'm cheating if I put three or four Champions in the same deck, especially if my opponent only has ONE champion in his deck.

That's a fair and honorable way to play, true. Mechanically you're more than welcome to do it, but also having half your personalities cost more than 10GP might make your curve very off. It's like the old Star Wars CCG, if you load your deck with Vader and Tarkin and Emperors, you get swarmed and killed by talz being led by Beru Lars.

Yep. Gold cost is an important consideration.

Besides, there's only one Clan Champion anyone needs.

That's true. Battle Kachiko is actually kind of nasty, Shoju can be really obnoxious, Paneki has some nastiness.

I have Paneki in my Scorpion deck. Paneki can make you Panicy

It's more fun that only Kachiko 3 is actually Loyal. So that character lockdown, slow poison, honor control, she just likes to play.

I'd argue then that you should just come up with your own decks and have fun. That way it'll be way more balanced, ideally.

i was hoping for some more examples of phoenix decks, the clan seemed to be prettu underepresented at Koteis, so i found only one Kotei decklist apart from that

i'm not looking for top-tier, just some examples to see what people were building as an inspiration

Also a problem is that 2015 spring Kotei season got only two or three weeks of Ivory Koteis, and most of them were even Strict not Arc. Then every TO skipped to 20F

Obviously, Phoenix had a jolly good time in Emperor (at least until the ban waves) and had probably the strongest deck in the end-20F format when the game closed (because end of service prevented Honor from ever getting errata). But I really don't remember a lot from them in between.

They absolutely had a lot of horrible trap options. Hi, Koiso Sensei, this means you!

Oracle's weird about how it handles banned things. They're removed from their arc's legality tags, so you can't actually find them that way.

Ivory banlist was Advance Warning, Cavalry Escort, Exotic Farmlands, and Well-Defended Farm. I think that's all of them.

Also some impactful errata like Crane stronghold and Akagi sensei (and Oboro the Liar that nerfed "mill your Dynasty" Conspiracy combo deck).

Ah yeah, forgot about the Oboro errata. I never played against that engine when it was legal, so it was just sort of a footnote curiosity for me.

And farm/farmlands errata was a weird one as you could play them if you played original L2P A Matter of Honor deck (lol).
