Doji Konishiko and Konetsu

When Konishiko gains an action from a Political action card, is the action still Political when cloned by Konishiko?

Yes, if Political is part of the Action: "Political Open:" "Political Limited" etc.

If so, I have the following questions regarding Konetsu copying Konishiko's cloned Political action:

1. Must Konetsu bow to take the action as an additional effect?

The wording is not very clear on this matter. I'm not certain if it considered to be part of the ability proper, or part of an on-going effect on Konishiko from using the Reaction. I'll ask Jeff.

2. Is Konetsu limited to an once-per-turn use of the action?

That goes hand-in-hand with the first issue.

3. Does Konetsu forget his use of a restricted action like Shame at the end of turn?

The permanent effect of "No more copies of [this card] may target that Personality until he is restored to honor and dishonored again," is not forgotten after Konetsu's copying of the ability expires, no.

Timing of reattaching Shosuro Infiltrator

When Shosuro Infiltrator comes back from the discard, does it do so before or after attacking Personalities go home bowed?

They have the same timing reference of "after the battle ends." I'm not sure if this creates a conflict between the effects happening simultaneously or not. I'm going to check it with Jeff, but it looks like the active player would choose.

Rules Problem - Tireless Assault

I understand the original wording of Tireless Assault was made for Gold Edition Rules to allow you to target your bowed cards with the Action as well as your unbowed cards - but doesn't its targeting requirement sort of screw it up?

I think the idea that there can be units in play that are neither bowed nor unbowed is screwing it up. However, I don't see a way around it.

Tireless Assault can target a unit with a mix of cards. This also applies to The Four Winds March, Sorrow's Path, and any other cards with this legacy phrase.

Tireless Assault.

I'll ask Jeff what he wants to do, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say to (for now) play the card as if it says, "Target a unit in your home that has not been in any battle during its resolution this Attack Phase. Straighten that unit and move it into the current battle."

Why? I was under the impression that a card needed to be a severe balance issue to receive erratum? It doesn't particularly matter to me either way, I am just wondering why very clear text on a card that's in print, and is not a balance issue (as far as I know), is being changed.

The fact that it has taken almost two years for someone to point out that this card -- a Common that is heavily played by multiple factions -- doesn't do what everyone thinks it does means the wording is not "very clear". The intent is blindingly obvious and is still attainable by a change which is A) minor, and B) involves removing something no longer needed anyway. Plus, the card was technically incorrect from the very beginning unless we define "unbowed unit" as "a unit with an unbowed Personality" (and likewise for "bowed unit"), which cause problems elsewhere.

Discarded Kan'check & Purge the Weak

If I have both Kan'check and a Purge the Weak in the discard piles, may Kan'check cast the Purge the Weak?

No. You can't normally take or perform Actions with Personalities in your Discard Pile. You don't even control those cards. You'd need an ability that specifically allows you to use the card from the Discard Pile. Kan'check only does this for Kiho and Spell cards - not himself.

That should cover everything from Thursday. If I missed your question, please repost it with the flag [RULES] as part of your Clear and Distinct subject line. I'll get back to you at the first opportunity.
