Abush & Call to Arms Question
Following the questions on Ambush / Retribution,
I would like to ask if someone can play "Call to Arms" as a reaction to an "Ambush" thus straightening all his personalities before the Ambush takes place.
If his Personality is the target to be the Defending Personality, then he will be the Defending Player, and thusly be able to play Call to Arms during the Assignment Segment, as per card text of Call to Arms.
Luchiban Sensei question
does this mean once per turn per bloodspeaker personality or once per turn period ?
Once per turn, period.
Barbarian Wall
Hi
Barbarian Wall got an Open action on it.
P81 of the rulebook reads : Player can take a Battle action on a Fortification or Region only during a battle at its own Province.
As it's written, this rule doesn't apply to the Barbarian Wall. I was wondering if it was intentional.
Absolutely.
And why
Because the card would be very weak if you could only use its second action on someone else's turn while they're attacking you, AND just when the Wall's battle is being fought.
RULES question about champions.
Basically, is Hachi considered both a Crab clan Champion, and a Crane clan Champion? I seem to remember there was some disagreement about how the clan traits interplayed with Champion traits like the Emerald and Jade ones. He has both the clan traits and the champion trait on one card, but they are not one phrase.
"[Keyword] Clan Champion" consists of two traits, "Clan Champion" and "[Keyword] Clan" or "[Keyword]", depending on which is a valid Faction or Minor Clan alignment. It is possible (e.g., Oath of Fealty) to acquire "a Clan Champion from your Faction" who does not have those printed traits. [JA, 2 May 2002] (Accumulated Rulings, "Traits")
Hachi is a Champion, Crane Clan, and Crab Clan. He is not Crane Clan Champion. H is not Crab Clan Champion. He is not "Clan Champion" at all.
Casting with units not at the battle
I am playing Dragon HoT, have Ring of Air in play (along with Fire, Void and Water) I am attacking with a lone Monk beefed up through Hoshi House Guard at province A I am attacking with a bunch of smaller monks at province B, where my opponent (Crane KDA duelist) assigns to defend with a personality I choose to resolve the B province battle first He plays Come One at a Time, and I use Flee the Darkness to cancel his immediate first duel
Can I cast Flee the Darkness with the lone Monk at province A, straightening him with the Ring of Air and getting Flee back through Hoshi House Guard?
Nothing on Flee the Darkness mentions anything about where the caster has to be. Flee, Ring of Air, and Hoshi House Guard all have Reactions, and thusly are not bound by the Rule of Presence or the Rule of Relevance.
That should cover everything from the 17th, and there were no posts to L5R-CCG archived under the 18th, so that's covered too. If I missed your question not related to Dawn of the Empire, please repost it with the flag [RULES] in your clear and distinct subject line. I will get back to you at the first opportunity.
