Questions about Costs

1.I have a Samurai who costs 8

If you use Hiruma Dojo to lower the cost of the Samurai 4 and then pay 4 do you get the honor? Can you once you lower the cost by 4 lower it again by 2 if he is of your faction? If you use 2 Hiruma Dojo to pay for the Samurai who costs 8 by lower the cost by 4 twice, do you get the honor? (he is of your faction)

Yes, you get the honor if you so choose. You can also choose to reduce his cost a further 2 gold and not gain the honor. Sure, the -2 cost is rounded up to 0 by the rules about stat-floors (nothing my Honor Requirements and Family Honor can be lower than 0) but sometimes this comes in handy when effects like "Deeds, not Words" turns honor-gain into a liability.

2.

Can Shadowlands players lower the cost of their personalities by 2? This is something I don’t get, since they say “Unaligned” and they say “Shadowlands” Is “Shadowlands” a trait or a faction in this case?

Faction Traits are just that - traits. Shadowlands, however, is not a Faction Trait. Shadowlands Horde players never get the option to buy Personalities for honor or for 2 gold less. (Diamond Edition Rulebook)

When Kyoso No Oni comes into play you must destroy a holding (ouch!) is that counted as a COST? Or entering play effect?

Both the holding destruction and the honor-loss are entering play effects. If you can't do them, you ignore them.

Does Kwanchai xp target the personality?

Does Kwanchai xp target the personality he is saving? Or does he target the destruction, or does he just negate the destruction?

Kwanchai does not target or affect the Personality, only the destruction effect. It is pretty much the same function as "Flee the Darkness" but with a different trigger.

You generally don't need to target the Personality to just cancel an action or negate an effect on that Personality.

The Mount Does Not Move targets the personality because it gives the personality +2F and destroys them at the end of the turn - not because it negates the destruction effect.

Feign Death and Kisada's Shrine target the Personality because they create a new effect on the Personality - returning it to play.

OK, that's that. Everything else appears to be handled either in-thread or is a Hidden City question. If I missed your question, please repost it with [RULES] in the subject line and I'll get to it at the first opportunity.

Thanks,
