Rules for 25 June 2003
A rules digest from the L5R CCG rules team, copied from the mailing list archive for Oracle of the Void. The askers' names are left out. Rulings are as they stood on this date; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
Greetings,
[Heard in the AEG office!]
"Hey Jeff."
"Yeah."
"Which of the Rules Junta is the furthest from Ohio?"
"Probably Zen."
"So he's not likely to be there at Origin, is he?"
"Probably not."
"Good. Have him do Rules Q&A while you're at Origin."
So without further ado...
Timing of Targeting
how is the exact sequence between targeting, paying costs and effects when an action has multiple effects and/or effects for which the targets are choosen by my opponent?
Follow the first cardinal rule: the order written on the card takes precedence.
But the current rulings all imply that, if my Overwhelmed is canceled somehow, my personality is still destroyed.
Overwhelmed may be cancelled at several different points. But if the action is canceled when the opponent's Personality is targeted, yours indeed stays dead.
Tactical Action
Could someone explain what is a 'Tactical Action' (in Akodo Sarasa's text)?
No definition is available yet.
L5r CCG Rules - Shrine to Fukorokojin/Shiba Ningen Exp.
I use Shrine to Fukurokojin with a 3 chi pesonality and draw a 4 focus value card. Can I use Shiba Ningen Exp. ability to discard the drawn card and redraw?
If the card is not discarded by the Shrine's effect.
If yes, does the new card frawn have to conform to the chi/focus value restriction of the original effect, or does Ningen create a new Discard/Draw effect?
The latter.
