Shatter the Elements Question

Personal Honor, Atoshi, and penalties

Just a few quick questions-

1. Is there a cap on personal honor, i.e. 5 is max?

There is no cap except that imposed by explicit card text.

2. Negatives from penalties stay in existence until a bonus with an equal duration cancels them, correct?

It doesn't "cancel" the penalty, it just adds enough to compensate for it. It doesn't matter if the bonus is permanent. You do the math, adding all the current bonuses and subtracting all the current penalties, and only then do you impose a minimum of 0 if the sum is less than that.

Yasuki Hachi has the Imperial Standard attached, and then gets hit with Retirement. He will forever have 0(-1) Force until he is given a permanent raise to his force-is this right?

It doesn't have to be permanent. For example, a Charge will make him 1F (2 + 1 - 4 + 2) until the end of the turn, then it's back to 0F(-1).

3. If Kakita Atoshi has a Diplomatice Apprentice attached, I believe this is the correct outcome-

The Apprentice bows to lock the other unit down. However, his text does not say he can remain bowed, so he unbows at the beginning of the straighten phase, allowing said personality to straighten as normal (barring any retargetting by Atoshi/Apprentice).

The Apprentice does not copy the ability, it merely bows to pay the cost. The ability is still Atoshi's. The current ruling is that the effect ends immediately since Atoshi is unbowed.

two questions

1- Can I use Bayushi Sunetra's battle action in a battle without units, to move Sunetra into another battle?

You can move her into the current battle. You can't move her from one different battle to another different one.

Example: I attack province C with Sunetra. I resolve in A province. May I use Sunetra to move her to province B?

No. That does not satisfy the Rule of Relevance.

and to province A?

Yes.

2- Can I use Mapped Region in a battle without units to search for a terrain (like Treacherous Terrain) that 'may be played in a battle in which you have no units'?

No.

Rules Question: Kuni Yori Exp3 and Forgotten Tombs

When you put a personality into play from other place than a province, as you can do with Kuni Yori Exp3 or Forgotten Tomb, does the entering into play effects trigger? I mean, a 4 honor loss, a Will only Join trait...

Yes. You can't play a Personality this way who will only join another clan.

What happens with Turn of Fate?

If the Personality can't join you, you still discard all cards attached to the shugenja, but the Personality does not enter play. Unless the Province has less than its maximum number of Dynasty cards, the shugenja does not move into the Province either.
