Rules Question Test of the Jade Champion + Hochiu
1) Can Hochiu use his reaction?
No. His reaction is used "upon entering a duel".
2) Can Poissoned Weapon be used on an apponent?
No, because it's played "during a duel".
Test of the Jade Champion mentions focusing but is not a duel, so you need to check your reactions to see whether they react to a focus or a duel.

So if the personality needs not bow then it's not considered "taking" an action? ie I use Iajitsu challenge to have one of my personalities issue a challenge, but they are not considered to be "taking an action"?
The Personality is not taking the Iaijutsu Challenge action, no. You are.
Does this mean that the greater majority of limited actions played from the hand that target a personality without bowing as a cost are not actually considered to be taking actions? (like meditation, charge, ia challeneg, etc)
Again: the Personality is not. You are.
If a reaction reads: play when a personality is taking/performing an action, it would only be legal to play when the personality is actually bowing as a cost?
Or anything else that fits the definition of a Personality taking/performing an action. Correct.
Also if the bowing cost is negated, say casting a kiho with Takao's gingsa, is it still considered to be taking an action? or is it no longer considered to be taking an action since the personality is not bow
That is an interesting question which the definition will need to be expanded to clarify.
Shosuro Gardens clarification
Just a quick clarification cause I wasnt sure on how the discussion settled. When you use Shosuro Gardens, only the first target must be legal?
The new target must be a legal one for the original action. That's straight from the rulebook. The ruling is that "legal" is determined only from the point of view of the action's original player, and that your choice of a new target is not bound by your own targeting restrictions (unless, of course, you are also the original player). It's not a new ruling, either...more like three and a half years old.
2) May I use two diferent snow-crane tattoos in the same focus card?
Sure. Nothing on the card prohibits it and it's not the same printed reaction being used twice. (And "raise by 2" is a cumulative effect, so it would, in fact, add +4...which I'm sure is the whole point.)
3) May I sepukku a dishonored samurai when he/she's dying to reduce the honor loss from his personal honor to 1?
No. Only live samurai can seppuku.
4) May I ambush other player personality with a samurai with a Shireikan attached, then sepukku samurai, then use Shireikan reaction, then continue the battle with shireikan (now as personality) and then reduce the honor lose to 1 honor?
Everything there works except keeping Shireikan in the battle.
Quick questions...
Just a quick two tonight. Can you really combine a Spearman or Ashirgaru Archers with the shot from a Poison Dartgun (on the one Gold legal Ninja that can have non-Ninja followers) to kill an even larger guy with attached followers?
No. Ranged attacks can only be combined if they can all aim at the target (APC rulebook p. 63).
Second, is Ninja still a faction? Can I still Ally with the Ninja in my Scorpion deck to lower the gold cost of all the Ninja's by 2?
Yes and yes, even in Strict Gold tournaments.
