Qn Re: Stand as Stone:

I have a question regarding a card from A Perfect Cut, "Stand as Stone"-

Stand as Stone 1F 3G Limited: Give a tattooed personality either +2F,+2C,or +2PH permanently.

I don't suppose one could target a face-up personality in a province with this card, could one?

All effects are limited to targeting cards in play unless a card or rule says otherwise.

I'm pretty sure this ruling about "go home bowed is the default" has been around for awhile but I can't seem to find it in the online Gold Rulebook. Jeff, this is something that should be added under the "Other Battle Rules" section, IMO.

From the archives, getting the Ancestor is all that's required to avoid the honor loss. Getting it and attaching it are two separate effects and the first resolves even if the second one can't.

Getting and attaching are two separate effects: if I have no Ancestors in my Fate deck (eg 'cos it's in my hand) I lose three honour. Can I attach an Ancestor from my hand rather than from my Fate deck?

Getting and attaching are two separate effects, yes, but you can only attach the one that you got. If you didn't get one, you can't attach anything.

1. If i use iaijutsu lessons with a personality with, say 4 chi, against a personality with printed 2 chi but a weapon that gives them a higher chi than my 4, if i win the duel can i play the ring of fire?

His Chi was higher than yours before the challenge. Yes.

Ruling question on an APC card Minor Illusion

Hello all, as some of you may know who have read my drivel you will notice that I think I am in love with the card Minor Illusions. Minor Illusion reads.

Reaction: Bow this Shugenja after a Holding is bowed to negate all effects of the Holding other than Gold Production.

Here is the question. If I bow a corrupt holding to produce gold, can I bow the shugenja with Minor Illusions attached to negate the honor loss?

Just to be clear here, is it still collusion if the other player had no idea beforehand that you were planning to help him out?

Whether the other player is a knowing accomplice has no impact on how much of an infraction (if it even is one) your actions are.

Just a short question. Does Unavoidable Destiny resolve against a player using Norikazu Sensei?

No. It doesn't create a new victory condition.
