I'm guessing you're asking about The Mountain's Power? Actual cards' text helps more than vague examples. Fortunately, I answered this very question at GenCon.
An ongoing, triggered negation effect intrinsically happens just before the thing it negates, to prevent it from happening. Therefore, the Personality's destruction will be negated by his Spell before the "unit destruction" destroys said Spell. He'll then be left standing while all his attachments succumb.
