L5R CCG Rules board, 29 June 2012 to 1 July 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Text Reaction: After another player's Battle action targets your Berserker: Delay its effects on him until after this battle ends.

What if a berzerker is targeted with a duel? Is the duel its self delayed untill after the battle? Also if i put a -2 chi pen. on a berzerker and he only has 2c and he delays it untill after the battle, but then attaches a weapon that gives him plus 1 chi will he die at the end of the battle? Same with other effects that have requirements like detroy a dishonorable guy, then he delays it then becomes honorable would he still die? Or a double effect, like bow him. If he is dishonorable destroy and attachment?

Entering a duel is not an effect ON the berserker. However, any consequences of the duel such as destruction, bowing, dishonoring or moving are, and will be delayed.

In the case of the 2C penalty, the penalty itself is delayed. Therefore, if you raise the berserker's Chi before the penalty applies (such as by attaching a +1C weapon), when the penalty is applied the berserker's chi will be above 0 and he will survive.

However, a card like Relentless Conviction that destroys a dishonorable Personality will still apply its destruction, as he was a legal target at the time. If you rehonor him in the meantime, you will not lose his Personal Honor when he is destroyed.

Destruction of his attachment is not an effect on the berserker, so in the final case you give, the bowing would be delayed, but the attachment's destruction would be immediate.
