L5R CCG Rules board, 26 April 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

i was wondering if you could clarify something and explain the reasoning behind a rule with overlaying

as i understand it, if person A is overlaid onto Person B. all game states from Person B are kept, but none on Person A are. and the resulting personality is a different card to Person A

but as per http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=95745&p=1273231&hilit=overlay#p1273231 the use of person A's ability if already performed IS carried over. and even tho the resulting personality is a new one and as such has not performed any action. he counts as having used his ability already?

can you explain why? as i dont understand the reasoning behind this
