Effects Clarification

L5R CCG Rules board, 24 April 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

can i choose to bow a bowed personality with Preserving Honor and My Enemy's Mercy? or do i have to choose the other effect of movement. thanks!

-- Preserving Honor Battle: Target an enemy Personality at the current battlefield: His controller chooses either to bow him, or to choose another location and move him there. If the bowing or movement is negated, remove the Personality from the game.

My Enemy's Mercy Battle: Choose your performing unbowed Samurai and target an enemy Personality with equal or lower Personal Honor: The enemy leader chooses to either bow him or move him home. Gain 2 Honor.

You may choose to bow a Personality that is already bowed, unless the wording on an effect specifies otherwise. In both of these cases, if the Personality is already bowed you may choose to bow him again.
