Daigotsu Kanpeki and Daigotsu Kanpeki (no experience)

L5R CCG Rules board, 21 February 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

So Daigotsu Kanpeki is a personality in Kolat Edition (also upcoming, now pre-released emperor edition)

Daigotsu Kanpeki is also a holding from samurai edition. So a war of honor spider deck (or any sort of open or extended pre-EE legality play) cannot include the holding and the person in a deck at the same time because they are not explicitly different experienced levels? (obviously they can't be in play at the same time)

(I guess this also applies to 'the great bear' holding, since it doesn't specify an experience level either. It even makes sense story wise to be in the same deck as Hida Kisada since the great bear trained the little bear. I don't own that card so I care less though, but I suspect it should be mentioned for those searching for a Kisada vs. Kisada ruling.)

edit: woah, he does have the experienced keyword. How have I looked at him so many times and not noticed that. what a dumb question on my part.

If the cards have the same title and the same experience level, they may not be included in the same deck if both are Unique, per the deck construction rules. However, you might note that Daigotsu Kanpeki the Personality has the Experienced keyword.
