A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
A player, 4 February 2012
Personality Bob is unique. Bob is dishonorably dead. Bob gets put back into the province. Will Bob enter the province dishonored? What if Bob was put onto the top of the deck, then later showed up in a province? How do tokens work with this?
I can imagine this happening with Moto Naleesh. Although I believe I understand the ruling, I would like to make sure.
Relevant ruling. (Not sure how relevant, but the closest rule I can find.)
"Tracking rule
“Memory” of the status of individual non-Unique cards ends when the card enters a deck or a hand, or otherwise becomes both face-down and out of play (such as after a card in the deck or hand is shown). This includes dishonorable status, ongoing effects, and whether or not an ability has been used."
Thanks in advance. I'm sure I've overlooked something very simple.

You looked at the right rule, but I believe you may have an incorrect version of it. Per the Tracking Rule which affects both Unique and non-Unique cards, unless Bob went face-down and out of play, dishonored status will come with him. If he instead went on top of the deck, he would forget his dishonored status.
Tokens are removed from the game if they leave play.

There was a glitch in the Comprehensive Rules (we had been considering exempting Uniques from the Tracking Rule but decided against it). The Tracking Rule in EE should apply to all cards regardless of Unique status.
