A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
A player, 20 January 2012
I didn't see this question asked and I tried to find something in the rules that would prevent it but I probably looked in the wrong place
If I have a Kensai with two Reserve Weapons equipped, would I be able to get +3 from both weapons, each time I focus (for a total of +6 to my duel stat)?
Seems like a straightforward yes, but, I had a couple people tell me they didn't think it worked that way.
Thanks!

The answer is "no", actually.
The active player chooses the order in which simultaneously triggered effects occur. And, sometimes, that order of resolution will take away or alter the trigger in such a way that further effects won't happen.
Once one Reserve Weapon gives +3 "instead" of the Personality's focus, the trigger "Before this Personality focuses" is gone and the effect won't occur.
(see here, the paragraph under section D).
