The Loyalty of the Scorpion: Reaction: After an action targets your Scorpion Clan Personality, destroy your performing Scorpion Clan Personality: Negate either the bowing, movement, or destruction of the target from the action's effects.
Ok, I'm getting back into the game after ten years and so am rusty on some of the base rules. I'm trying to figure out if I'm in the middle of a battle at an opponent's province and he tries to send home one of my Scorpion Clan personalities, if I play this card to prevent that action, does the personality I destroy to prevent the action have to meet the rule of presence at that battle? Or could it for instance be some little 0F/2C/1PH Apprentice Courtier I have shaking in his boots at home?

If you have a Personality at the battle, you're already meeting Presence. I believe you are wondering if you need to meet the Rule of Location.
And, in that regard, it's only Battle actions that are bound by Presence and Location. Reactions are not required to meet those rules, so your Courtier at home is indeed a legal performer for Loyalty of the Scorpion.
