I still get confused by this rule sometimes.
A Personality or Follower is performing an action if its controller is the player taking the action, and any of these things is true: • The action comes from an ability on the Personality or Follower. • The action comes from an ability on an Item or Spell in the Personality’s unit. • The Personality or Follower was targeted in the action’s constraint block
On Daigotsu Shaiko, it says: Maho Battle: Destroy your performing unbowed Undead card: Detroy a target enemy card without attachments.
Does that mean I need to destroy an undead attached to Shaiko (or Shaiko herself)? That's the way I've been playing it, but I'm wondering if it means that I can destroy any of my undead on the current battlefield?
I guess the last bullet point of the perform definition is what confuses me. Does the card already have to be performing since that is a constraint, or does targeting it instantly make it performing?
Also in the constraint block it says "Destroy your performing unbowed Undead card" - does that imply that I am targeting it and then destroying it? Or does the text have to explicitly say "target" in order for it to be considered as targetted?
---------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for the answer, but I guess I'm still confused. (Couldn't post reply)
The card text must explicitly say "target" in order for it to be considered as targetted, and targeting it instantly makes it performing. That makes sense to me now. But the Daigotsu Shaiko ability does not say to target an undead, it just says "Destroy your performing unbowed Undead card:" as the constraint block. So how is a card that is not in her unit meet the requirements to be "performing?"
