"Take Control" of effects.

L5R CCG Rules board, 17 June 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Is there anyway, besides the loyal keyword, to negate 'take control of X personality' effects. For example when my opponent plays Enticement or Yoritomo Sachina does the personality move from my 'home' to their 'home' and if so can that movement be negated by for example muscle and steel, if all costs were paid? And if that movement is stopped what happens to that personality, does it negate the changing of control, or does the control still switch and my opponent has 'his' personality just chillin in my home area?

Not many. I'm sure there are some things on specific cards somewhere, though none come immediately to mind.

Negating movement, however, is definitely not one. All effects are independent (http://rules.l5r.com/CE_FAQ#If_one_effe ... _happen.3F). Negating movement does nothing about who controls a card.
