A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

In the middle of our first game--- and alot of my dragon stuff has battle actions-- bow a target personality kind of stuff... whats the purpose of this?
My understanding is you announce attackers, then blockers, then you can take actions.. but if your dude is already being blocked, whats the point of bowing their stuff when its just going to straighten during their turn anyway?

http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Physically_mark ... nd_unbowed: "Abilities on a bowed card can not be used... and bowed cards in a unit affect the calculation of total unit Force."
Force totals drop.
Chance to do stuff goes away.
