Hello!
I have a few questions relating to the game and minor nitpicks.
1) When you have to pay a cost for an effect, like Yoritomo Sachina or Dramatic Assassination. Does it have to be paid with the exact cost in gold (and can't be overpaid) or the effect won't go off?
2) If players pass consecutively, is it considered the end of the phase at any point?
3) The Red Death, we're having an argument on its wording...Does it destroy one or two attachments (regardless of force), and if they are personalities, then it destroys based on force. Or both attachments and personalities rely on force?
4) When using holdings or characters to pay for gold costs with reaction effects (like barley farm), can you use solely reactions to pay for a gold cost (like with rout) or they must be combined with a bowed holding?
5) When a card says at the end of combat, instead of the combat segment. Like Daigotsu, would that mean after the battle resolution?
[Mod edit: Thread title. Please make them as specific as possible to help people looking for answers using the forum's search function. Thanks! -ZF]

No. http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Costs_and_restr ... production: "It is permitted to overpay a Gold cost by any amount".
If players pass consecutively, is it considered the end of the phase at any point?
Yes. http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Sequence_of_play#Action_Phase "Each player in turn order, starting with the active player, has the opportunity to pass or take a legal action, continuing around the table any number of times any number of times until all players pass consecutively." Emphasis added.
The Red Death: Does it destroy one or two attachments (regardless of force), and if they are personalities, then it destroys based on force. Or both attachments and personalities rely on force?
I can't find a card with that title.

Too general to answer; it will depend on the exact wording of the Reaction. I think there is some that do specify that they must happen with another payment. Most do not, however. No rule says a holding must be bowed at some point duing cost payment.
When a card says at the end of combat, instead of the combat segment... would that mean after the battle resolution?
I'm guessing you mean "after battle ends", as I can't think of any cards that refer to "end of combat". http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Battles: "The condition “during (a) battle” includes both the Combat and Resolution Segments, as well as the Final Steps before the battle ends, but not step A (Choose Battlefield)."

The description given for "The Red Death" fits the card "The Red Hunger" http://l5rsearch.com/db/search.cgi?cmd= ... rd_id=9222
