Last one vs. Unit Kill/Bow in regards to attachments

L5R CCG Rules board, 14 March 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I tried to search for more info about this but my searched for "the Last one" turned up nothing.

Here is my question. My enemy has a shugenja that has been last one'ed. that shugenja has a bunch of cheap spells. if i have out a big unit(with higher unit gold cost then the last one'ed personality) and play Fearless defense(on the last one personality, bowing my big unit), can i destroy all the last one'ed units attachments? the last one negates the destruction of the personality, however does that apply to all his spells too?

Either the action that targets a unit starts at the personality and if it fails the entire action fails, or the action that targets a unit targets each card in the unit separately, in which case, the entire unit would be destroyed and then the death negated.

the same thing goes for if i use something that bows a unit, if i use a bow unit action on a lasted one'ed personality, do all his attachments bow?

The Last One Open: Target your Personality: Destroy all of your other Personalities. If this destroyed at least four Personalities, permanently give your targeted Personality +4F, and until the end of the game, negate effects of other player's actions that bow, dishonor, move, or destroy him.

Fearless Defense targets an enemy Personality, bows him, then destroys him if a condition is met. Both effects apply to the targeted enemy Personality only (card text), so The Last One will negate them.

However, The Last One would not negate any effect that applies to an attachment in the unit. For example Impetuous Challenge bows the duel's loser's unit so if the Personality who is The Last One loses this duel, all cards in his unit bows except himself.
