Discarding cards from provinces and refilling

L5R CCG Rules board, 18 November 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I'm playing against a ninja deck with lots of "discard a province" effects. My question is:

When do i refill my province if my opponent uses a card that discards a card from my provinces

a) in his action phase? b) in my action phase? c) in a battle (his turn)? d) in a battle (my turn, after retribution or something like that)?

The answer to all of those question is the same: immediately.

http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Areas_of_the_ga ... of_play.29: "When a card leaves a province and the province then holds fewer than its maximum number of cards, effects triggered by the card leaving the Province or entering play resolve first (including effects of Events that resolved from that Province). Then, if the Province still holds fewer than its maximum number of cards, it is refilled with a face-down Dynasty card from the top of the Province’s owner’s deck."
