failing to find - looking vs searching

L5R CCG Rules board, 17 November 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Here is a follow up question. Let's say that I used Planned Adversity and failed to find a holding during my "search"

Can I then still use the Head of Fudo to "look" at the top 4 cards of my dynasty deck and if there is a Fudo holding there and put it into play (bowed) ignoring its gold cost?

Yes.

Glossary, Look: Effects that let you only "look" at certain cards in a deck (such as the top card, bottom card, or top five cards) are not considered to be "searching" the whole deck.
