A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I guess this could be a more generic rules question, but, I couldn't find anything in the rules or faq that mentioned it. My search fu is admittedly weak. Please help.
I'm wondering about the timing of the multiple effects of this strategy
Conscript Troops Open: Choose your performing Commander: Look at the top 5 cards of your Fate deck. If one of them is a Follower, you may attach it to him, paying 4 less Gold. Put the remaining cards in the on the bottom of your deck in any order.
Do the cards go to the bottom before or after the follower is attached? Or is it simultaneous?
To expand upon this, lets say I'm playing Tetsu Kama Mura and the follower I play off of Conscript Troops is Taoist Archer which allows me to draw a card when it enters play.
Can I play Conscript Troops, attaching Taoist Archer from the effect, place the remaining cards on the bottom and then draw a card from the Archer's react?

No. You would have to use the reaction when Taoist Archer enters play, which is before the cards are put on the bottom.

Regarding viewtopic.php?f=59&t=86619
for clarification:I play Conscript Troops then look at the top 5 cards of my deck, one being Taoist archer, which I attach.
Before the 4 remaining cards go to the bottom of the deck, for the card draw from Taoist Archer do I..
A: Draw the top card from my deck (the 6th card before Conscript Troops is played) or B: Draw what would have been the top card before I looked at the top 5.
So I guess the main question is: are those 4 cards still considered to be the next 4 cards of my deck until Conscript Troops sends them to the bottom? Additionally what would happen if I used Imperial Artificer to pay for the Taoist Archer?

Yes, assuming you use the Reaction on your Taoist Archer and your Stronghold is not Tetsu Kama Mura.

Yes again, because A and B are equivalent, see below.
are those 4 cards still considered to be the next 4 cards of my deck until Conscript Troops sends them to the bottom?
Yes. To look at one card does not remove it from your Fate deck; see Glossary, Look (emphasis mine): "To look at a card is to inspect a face-down card without showing it to anyone else or changing its position (such as in a deck)."
what would happen if I used Imperial Artificer to pay for the Taoist Archer?
Assuming the performing Commander is a Samurai, you draw the top card of your Fate deck that you are looking at, then you discard a card from your hand, then thanks to Taoist Archer's Reaction, you draw another card you that are looking at too, then you put the remaining two cards on the bottom of your deck in any order.
