L5R CCG Rules board, 27 August 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Justly earned victory

Battle: Negate all current Force bonuses and penalties to cards at this battlefield from actions.

Inspirational victory

Focus Effect: After this duel ends, if your Personality won it, draw a card and give each of your personalities at his location +1F, or +2F if he is in your current army.

Can i use justly earned victorys force negation action to reduce the force bonuses given to enemy army by inspirational victory?

Can i use justly earned victorys force negation action to reduce the force bonuses given to enemy army by inspirational victory?

No, this Battle action from Justly Earned Victory would have no effect on the Force bonuses from Inspirational Victory because they come from its Focus Effect, that is a trait and not an action, whereas Justly Earned Victory negates Force bonuses only if they come from actions.

Glossary, Focus EFfect (emphasis mine): A special boldface trigger for a trait that is activated if its card is face-up in the focusing area at the point in a duel when Focus Effects resolve. “Focus Effect” is not an action designator or a keyword.
