Hi,
Reading this thread "Legacy: Otomo Sensei vs. Recruiting Drive", I would have two more questions.
1/ If there is only one card in the discard pile and this card is a follower. Is the "searching" trigger ON or OFF ? I think the number of cards in the discard pile is not important but it could be important for the next question.
2/ Recruting Drive create the perfect trigger for "searching". As Recruting Drive says that the searched follower will be played as if it comes from the hand of the player, is right to say that playing a card from the discard pile or playing a card from a deck means searching that card and play it ? Here are the names of the cards that can create that kind of effect : Unshakable, Chitik, Kan'ok'ticheck XP2, Akodo Sadahige (Base), Warrens of the One Tribe, Insight.
One more thing about playing a card from a deck : Isawa Sezaru. The top card of the Fate deck is turned face up and can be played. When I want to play this card, is the "Searching" Trigger ON ?
One last thing about paying the cost of an action : Akodo Sadahigue XP. I want to use his battle action, can Otomo Sensei remove the same card I would choose to pay the Cost of my Battle Action ? If it can, my action fails, doesn't it ?

The Card Text : Unshakable : Target an Action card in your discard pile. Play it for one of its Battle abilities as an additional action. Remove this card and the target card from the game, even if out of play, after that action ends.
Chitik : You may play Action cards in any discard piles with an additional cost of bowing and Dishonoring Chitik. Remove cards played this way from the game instead of discarding them
Kan'ok'ticheck XP2 : Once per turn, you may play an Action card from any discard pile. After it resolves, remove it from the game.
Akodo Sadahige (Base) : Tactical Battle: If Sadahige is in the current battle, once per battle, play an Action card from your discard pile for one of its Battle actions as if it were in your hand. Remove the card from the game.
Akodo Sadahige XP : Battle: Remove a Fate card in your discard pile from the game: Bow a target enemy card without attachments. If you removed a Bushido Virtue, destroy the targeted card and gain 1 Honor.
Warrens of the One Tribe : Once per phase, you may play a Fate card in any discard pile as if it were in your hand.
Insight : Battle: Target one of your Samurai: Look at the top 3 cards of any Fate deck. You may rearrange them. You may take an additional Battle action to play one of them that is a Battle Strategy.
Sezaru (From CE15 - Errata): The top card of all Fate decks is face-up. Before bowing Sezaru as the cost of a Spell action he is performing: You may bow the Spell to pay the cost instead. Before playing a card: Once per turn, you may play the top card of your Fate deck as if it were in your hand.
