I have a question considering such a situation:
There's a personality with 3Chi and with an item that gives +1 Chi bonus and with three tokens from Isawa Fosuta. I play Rout to destroy the item and send the personality home that dies from having 0 Chi. Can I bring the personality under my control with Fu Leng's Guidance? Can I use Udo's reaction?

Battle: Move a target unit home. Destroy one of its attachments (if any).
Isawa Fosuta (Experienced)
Maho Open: Bow Fosuta: Lose 6 Honor. While Fosuta remains bowed, you may negate his straightening and, at the start of each turn, you may target a Personality and give him a -1F/-1C Curse token. After the next time this game Fosuta straightens or leaves play, destroy all Curse tokens.
Fu Leng's Guidance
Reaction: After the resolution of an action that destroyed another player's Personality during a battle, if you are a Spider Clan player, discard this card: Bring him into play, ignoring Gold cost and Honor Requirement, in your current army. Permanently give him Shadowlands and Undead.
Udo
Maho Reaction: After the resolution of an action that destroyed a Follower or Personality: Create a 2F/2C/0PH Shadowlands • Undead Personality at Udo's location.

From Some things check to see if costs, effects, actions, targeting, or other game procedures come “from” a given source. The source is the card that the effect, action or targeting is printed on, or the rulebook if it is printed there. There are three exceptions: 2. A Personality’s destruction for having 0 Chi comes from the cost or effect that last gave the Personality a Chi penalty, or from the rulebook if there was no such cost or effect.
The Personality is destroyed because the chi bonus effect from the item ends when the item is destroyed. This is not a penalty, so the second sentence applies: the Personality is destroyed by the rulebook.
Thus, it's not the Rout action that destroys the Personality, so neither Fu Leng's Guidance's nor Udo's Reactions can be used.
