does successful bounty only count towards dishonoring people at a battlefield or does it not matter as long as i control a magistrate and/or courtier?
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Successful Bounty's effect will only trigger for a Personality at a battlefield, because only at battlefields can cards be "opposing" one another.
Opposing: "Refers to something on the other side of the battlefield from the thing being referred to. Only cards in units can be opposing cards. Other cards in a battlefield (e.g., Terrains, Regions) never oppose anything."
