Impetuous Challenge vs. Strength of the Bamboo

L5R CCG Rules board, 6 June 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 6 June 2010

Impetuous Challenge:Focus Effect: After this duel ends, if the duel’s loser did not focus, destroy him.

Strength of the Bamboo: Reaction: After an action targets your Hero Perosnality: Negate his destruction from the action's effects. Give him +1F.

If a Hero loses a duel and did not focus, can he use Strength of the Bamboo to prevent his destruction from the Focus Effect?

If a Hero loses a duel and did not focus, can he use Strength of the Bamboo to prevent his destruction from the Focus Effect?

It's not an action, and it's not targeting the Hero, so that's a "No" twice over.
