A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
A player, 9 May 2010
Claiming the throne: Before a player's turn ends this game, if the player, during that turn, destroyed a province in battle resolution, put at least two Rings into play by their own text, and gained 7 or more Honor, he may, as costs, discard the Imperial Favor and pay 10 Gold. If he does so, he wins the game.
So, can the 7 honor be gained by bringing personalities into play at full cost? (which means, yes, you'd probably be bowing 20ish gold in one dynasty phase and thats not likely anyway, but yeah)

Yes, part of that 7 honor can be from bringing a Personality from your Clan into play and forgoing the discount of 2G in order to gain honor equal to his Personal Honor. It still happened "during that turn". Keep in mind though, you may only gain honor this way once per Dynasty Phase.
