Asako Mokichi clarification

L5R CCG Rules board, 19 April 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

This came up during some casual play. I want to be certain that I understand how this card actually works as I'm thinking the intent may have been different from the actual wording.

Asako Mokichi Open: Bow Mokichi unless one of the target Personalities is a Shugenja: Give -2F to one to three of another player's target Personalities, each with a lower Personal Honor than Mokichi's Chi.

Will Asako Mokichi need to bow if two or three of the targeted personalities are shugenja? Or should this be read as "unless one or more of the target Personalities is a Shugenja" in this case?

No.
