Both Seppun Tashime in play

L5R CCG Rules board, 18 April 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I read the rules on Unique and Experienced personalities, but I can't figure this one out.

If I have both Seppun Tashime, and Seppun Tashime XP in my deck, can both be in play at the same time as different units, or the only option is to overlay the XP on the other one?

EDIT: Right, both are unique. You cannot have more than one Unique card with the same title in play under your control at the same time. You may not have both in play at once. You may of course overlay the XP Seppun Tashime onto basic Seppun Tashime.

I am a little confused. I was under the impression that since both versions of Tashime have the same name and both have the Unique keyword, you cannot have both in play unless the exp overlays the non-exp. I understand that I can have 4 Doji Ayano's in play, 3x the non-unique and 1x the unique, but all versions of Tashime are unique. Have I been playing wrong for all these years?

Fixed. Apologies for the error.
