Enticement + Gutobo

L5R CCG Rules board, 16 April 2010 to 17 April 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If I use enticement on my opponents gutobo on his turn before he targets a province with his ability, then target one of my provinces with his ability (to enable recon actions... for this example lets say i'm playing a scout deck), and then he defends and dies to an ability at that province, does he come back under my opponents control at the end of turn? or is he permanently dead? I know it wouldn't come back under MY control because I'm not his owner. But is this a legit way of killing a gutobo sans burn the village/impossible force etc?

No. Since you took the action, the effect would try to return all Goblin Personalities YOU own to play.

I know it wouldn't come back under MY control because I'm not his owner.

That's correct. The effect would simply fail if no Goblins you OWN were destroyed there.
