Wedge+Strength of the Bamboo (L5R rules board)

I tried to search for this, but Icouldn't find anything.

Wedge reads:

Text Battle: Target your Personality: You may not target cards in his unit with actions until after this battle ends. After this battle’s Resolution Segment begins, double his Force and the Force of each Follower in his unit. Destroy him after the battle ends.

Strength of the Bamboo reads:

Reaction: After an action targets your Hero Perosnality: Negate his destruction from the action's effects. Give him +1F.

Can I use Strength after I have targeted my Hero with Wedge? Strength reacts to the targeting of the Personality not the resolution of the action. Also Strength doesn't target a Personality, so does it get around the targeting restriction on Wedge? If it is legal to play, do Iget the doubling off of the +1f from Strength?
