A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Update.
"When comparing two cards, they have "different" keywords if, when all shared keywords are ignored, each card has an eligible keyword the other does not. ... When comparing more than two cards with multiple keywords, in order for all of them to be different from each other, each pair must be different from each other. In the above kinds of comparisons, a card without an eligible keyword has neither a different keyword nor the same keyword as another card."
Does that not apply in this case because United says "no two of whom share a Clan alignment" instead of "each with a different clan alignment than the others"?
Does the above quote regarding different keywords mean that ronin/unaligned personalities are untargetable by cards such as Unwanted Mediation? (Battle/Open: Bow 2 or more target Personalities with different Clan alignments controlled by the same player. You may pay Gold equal to one of the targets' Gold Cost, as a cost, to destroy him, if he is Unique.)

United's ability does not use the word "different" so rules about this word do not apply. Two Personalities share a Clan alignment if they both have at least one such identical keyword, therefore two unaligned Personalities never share a Clan alignment.

Indeed a Personality with no Clan alignment cannot be targeted by Unwanted Mediation's Battle/Open ability.
Please use the search function before asking new questions: see "Unwanted Mediation and Unaligned".
